Last Thursday night saw 64 foodies make their way to the Sydney CBD for a night of tantalising food, bubbly champagne and socialising.
And where was the secret location, you may ask? It was at none other than the one-hatted European restaurant Arras. Taking over the whole restaurant guests were seated both upstairs and down. Arras sports an understated elegant look executed with fine attention to detail. White tablecloths with plush, cushy chairs covered in Paul Smith fabric and large eye-catching mural on the main wall. With a glass of Piper-Hiedseick champagne in hand, dim lighting and British pop music playing in the background, we were buzzed and ready to feast.
First on the menu was potato salad with grilled lettuce, potato croutons and potato vinaigrette, paired with a class of Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut.
Next course was roasted salmon, roast and plain yoghurt with pressed cucumber followed by a blanquette of mulloway with lentils, broad beans and artichoke. Both were served with Champagne Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage.
Dessert featured strawberry foi gras with rosewater brioche, strawberry, champagne and celery jellies.
And to finish, we were served tea and coffee with a selection of Arras’ famous Petit Fours.
