Truffle Hunt-SOLD OUT
To celebrate the start of the truffle season, Secret Foodies and Pepe Saya Butter are hosting a delicious evening at Kitchen By Mike and you?re invited. Explore the mysterious truffle; it’s origins and versatility with Duncan Garvey of Perigord Truffles of Tasmania and other suppliers.
Date: Wednesday 26th June
Time: 7-10pm
Location: Kitchen By Mike 1/85 Dunning Ave, Roseberry, Sydney
Tickets: $55 includes hand made truffle butter from Pepe Saya with homemade bread, a savoury dish from Mike and dessert from Dessertmakers.
Complimentary Mudgee Wines from Lowe Wines will be served during the evening.
Style: This is a stand up, cocktail style event where guests are invited to interact with each supplier station. We will also be holding Q&As with the suppliers and Mike, hearing about their experience with truffles.

Duncan Garvey of Perigord truffles of Tasmania:
Duncan produces and markets Black Truffles from the cold soils of Tasmania, NSW and Victoria. This is unique opportunity to join the pioneer truffle grower of Australia and discuss the seduction of the black diamonds he harvests. Duncan will also have his truffles on display for sniffing and tasting.

Pepe will be showing you how he makes Truffle Butter served with fresh bread from Kitchen By Mike
John Fairley of Country Valley Dairy:
The Fairley family has been living in the valley (Picton NSW) for over 50 years, farming everything from peas to cattle. The dairy itself was opened in 1958 and has been working continuously every since. From milk to yoghurt pasteurising at minimum temperature, John shows us cream separating from milk and how he makes award-winning produce.
Merna Taouk of Dessertmakers:
Dessertmakers make delicious puddings and crumbles for the retail sector and Qantas Airlines. Founder, Merna will demonstrate the versatility of truffles by using them in desserts.
David Lowe of LOWE wines (Mudgee):
David Lowe is the owner and chief winemaker of Lowe Wines, a certified organic and biodynamic winery in Mudgee. During a 35-year career as a winemaker he has been at the forefront of many industry innovations, including the production of quality preservative free and lower alcohol wines.

Champagne Degustation (Melbourne)

Join Secret Foodies and Piper-Heidsieck Champagne for an evening of discovery. Learn about the origins for champagne over a five-course degustation at a surprise restaurant in the heart of Melbourne. Each course will be carefully matched with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne while you sit back and listen to intriguing tales of this French national treasure dating back to 1785.

Athens to Messinia- SOLD OUT
Join Secret Foodies for a Greek Adventure. We begin our night at the Dendy Cinemas Newtown for an advanced screening of Before Midnight, courtesy of Hopscotch eOne. After the film we will take you to a secret location for a Greek style sit down dinner. Opa!
Date: Thursday 11th July
Time: 6pm sharp arrive for the film followed by dinner
Location: Meet at Dendy Cinemas in Newtown, Sydney
Ticket: $65 includes a drink on arrival at our surprise venue + sit down share style meal. Each ticket includes complimentary admission to Before Midnight.

About The Film: Before Midnight tells the alluring love story between Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy), who met as strangers on a train bound for Vienna almost twenty years ago. Christmas In July (Sydney)
It’s that magical time of year when the leaves have fallen, the smell of mulled wine lures you in to cosy bars and we loosen our top buttons and indulge a little more than usual. Christmas in Australia is nothing like that but our winter comes pretty close. Celebrate the festive season early with Secret Foodies and Piper-Heidsieck for Christmas in July. We can’t promise snow but it’ll be a night to remember.
