Spring has sprung in Sydney and what better way to celebrate than with a boozy long lunch.
At 10:00am our foodies all received a text message letting them know that today’s Long Lunch would be held at The Butler in Potts Point.
With expansive views of Sydney’s skyline, bright plant-filled interiors and a vibrant Ibero-American menu, The Butler was a perfect fit to celebrate the start of spring and all Sydney has to offer at our long lunch event.
Guests were encouraged to embrace the season and wear a pop of colour and at 12:00pm our colourful foodies began to arrive at the venue and were greeted with the perfect drink to kick off the festivities, Riot Wine Co’s brand new Rosé Spritz in a can. Crafted with 10 natural botanicals, this spring drink was perfectly balanced with beautiful notes of sweet citrus making for a refreshing drink to start our long lunch.
Once the guests had all arrived it was time for the feasting to begin. The Butler team treated our guests to an array of seasonal dishes influenced by Spanish and Portuguese cuisine. A few highlights from our curated menu were the Yellowfin tuna tostada with peanut salsa macha, edamame and guajillo oil and the mouthwatering Adobo rubbed Wagyu rump with a cap 6+7 score served with chipotle morita, jamaica and sweet red onion escabeche. And how could we forget the dessert of blood orange and ricotta Buenuelos (fried doughnut fritters) served with Anejo caramel.
A long lunch wouldn’t be complete without free-flowing drinks and our foodies were spoiled for choice with the option of a spring punch made with Lillet Blanc, grapefruit, strawberries and fresh mint as well as Riot Wine Co’s 2019 Pinot G and 2019 Grenache (both served on tap).
Another highlight from the event was when the guests were able to hear from The Butlers head chef Amber Doig about her inspiration behind her cooking and The Butler’s flavourful menu. Her passion and excitement were contagious and the perfect way to finish off our long lunch.
