Secret Foodies is Sydney’s surprise dining experience. Launching in early 2010 as a way bringing foodies together through a unique culinary adventure, Secret Foodies has quickly become the best-kept secret in town. Meeting at surprise venues across Sydney guests purchase a ticket unaware of where they’re going or whom they’ll meet until 2 hours before the event. They are then taken on a flavoursome food journey with the chef, learning about the philosophy and passion behind their meal.

Hosted by Ms Darlinghurst, Secret Foodies’ events are designed to suit people who love great food, meeting new people and have a sense of adventure. When they’re not hosting public events in random locations the Secret Foodies team are working together to create unique, experiential events with like-minded brands and organisations.

How did Secret Foodies begin?

Eat Drink Play started in 2009 as the eyes and ears of Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Readers followed tales of Ms Darlinghurst and her pals as they gallivanted through bars and clubs, cafes and restaurants sharing experiences and a few cheeky exploits along the way. Searching for new ways to connect with food lover’s off-line Ms Darlinghurst started Secret Foodies in 2010. Inspired  by guerilla dining in New York and Melbourne and wanting to showcase Sydney’s food scene this was the perfect way to try new places and make new friends.
