Bask poolside and escape to the Amalfi Coast, we’re transporting you to the cliffside village of Positano for an afternoon.
Imagine ascending the grand elevator of Primus Hotel to one of Sydney’s hottest rooftop bars. Awaiting you is a lavish array of drinks teamed with charcuterie and gourmet pizza. Well this is what happened when Secret Foodies hosted their latest Afternoon in Positano event.
You’ll find this rooftop bar on level 7 of the iconic art deco Primus Hotel on Pitt street. The space, which is aptly called Level 7 only recently opened its doors to the public. Take a look and you’ll find nautical inspired cabanas, lush greenery and intimate fairy lights by night.
At 11:00am, guests were sent the ‘secret location’ instructing them to meet at Level 7 at 1:00pm. Upon arrival, they were greeted with a Veuve Rich Cocktail and invited to take a look at the stunning rooftop space. In between sips of this cocktail, guests mingled and exchanged names with fellow foodies.
Guests were then treated to the next drink of the afternoon, an Aperol Spritz. Basking poolside, this distinctly Italian aperitif made for the perfect companion to the Positano themed event.
At this cocktail-style event, guests were encouraged to graze at the charcuterie station at their leisure. With Executive Head Chef Daniel Menzies and his team at the helm, the station included a decadent array of blue cheese, brie, cured meats, pickles, terrine and more. Fresh fruit offered some sweetness to the table whilst generous hunks of bread and sweet potato crackers offered the perfect platform to the meats and cheeses.
With rain clouds threatening earlier on in the day, it was nice to see the sun creeping through as everyone sat back and enjoyed themselves on cabanas and lounge chairs. Flowing 2016 and 2017 Baie Rosé then circulated the rooftop for the remainder of the afternoon.
As 1pm crept into the mid-afternoon, glasses were clinked as old friends caught up and new friendships were formed.
