Contemporary Asian Cuisine With Harbour Views
We had a delicious meal at Luna Lu while overlooking the Sydney Harbour and seeing the lights of Vivid. Guests went upstairs to Bar Lulu, a private area, where they were welcomed with a Honey Yuzu Sour cocktail which had Ki No Bi gin, maideneii dry vermouth, and a signature honey yuzu blend.
Guests sat down and instantly started putting on their masks and snapping photos. Wine started flowing once everyone took their seats. They had a choice between Mud House Rapaura Sauvignon Blanc and Mud House Burleigh Pinot Rose to start.
The starters began to come out one by one for the table to share. There were duck spring rolls with premium-grade Italian black truffle and porcini mushrooms served with a ginger vinaigrette; black angus ranger valley short beef ribs with a sticky sauce, fried shallots and fresh chilli; kungpao style eggplant with miso, dried chilli and fried peanuts.
Once the starters were finished, plates and glasses were cleared to make room for the mains. The paired wines for the mains were Mud House Rapaura Sauvignon Blanc as well as Mud House Burleigh Pinot Rose. The mains were honey yuzu crispy fried chicken with dragon fruit, purple potato powder (made from fresh purple potato) and nori; wok tossed mock chicken teriyaki style served with crispy wild morel mushrooms and bamboo shoots; edamame fried rice with fresh English spinach puree, broccolini and snow peas; sesame broccolini with black sesame sauce. The vegan mock chicken was so good, it even fooled some of the vegetarians!
For dessert, guests enjoyed a homemade fruit tart while listening to the chef talking about Luna Lu and the dishes. Everyone left very merry and full–another great evening indulging in beautiful food while making new friends!
